Francisco Coll is one of our most renowned composers, backed by several international awards. Lilith, premiered in 2022, evokes the primordial myths of the mother goddess with a modern musical language, full of suggestion and mystery.

This mythological prelude is followed by an exquisitely French programme that links the figure of Debussy with one of his most illustrious successors. Francis Poulenc is the most prominent composer of the ‘Les Six’ group, who advocated a return to the simplicity of French music before Wagnerism and impressionism, taking on board the influences of jazz and popular music. The Concerto for two pianos and orchestra was premiered in Venice in 1932, commissioned by the Princesse de Polignac, the great Belle Époque patron whose artistic salon was recreated by Marcel Proust. An emblematic work in the repertoire, this concert has the typically French elegance and sophistication of Poulenc's work. It will be performed by the brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen, in whom the fan fervour that Franz Liszt preluded has been reincarnated in mainstream form.

Prelude to the Faun's Nap and La mer are Claude Debussy's two most iconic works. The Prelude, from 1894, is a landmark in Western music for its use of a new and exotic chromatic scale. In the Suite La Mer of 1905, Debussy would reach the height of his expressive talents. With our ears we see the ocean of sound, the giant waves crashing and roaring against the cliff of the orchestra.
